What “trained by lawyers” means for FinePrint LM

FinePrint LM is the legal AI model your Legal AI Team runs on, Counsel and FineShield both. Lawyers review and correct its work in AnswerLoop. Those corrections are how FinePrint LM improves.

A senior lawyer bending over papers under a desk lamp while a colleague looks on. A lawyer's response in AnswerLoop: Agree, Modify or Rework, with Modify selected.

How a lawyer's correction reaches the model

When FinePrint LM's work goes to AnswerLoop, a lawyer reads it and marks it agree, modify or rework. If something has to change, the lawyer makes the change and records the reason: the type of rule, the citation, and the rule itself in one sentence.

  1. A lawyer reviews the work in AnswerLoop.
  2. The lawyer records any change and the reason for it.
  3. The correction is used to improve FinePrint LM.

What it means for your company's work

“Trained by lawyers” describes how the model improves. How your Legal AI Team's work is supervised is a separate question.

  • Not every output is reviewed. Legal work follows a process lawyers approved and sample-check. Work that needs additional legal judgment waits for a lawyer's review.

  • Every change comes with its reason. When a lawyer changes a clause, your record shows why, so you can explain the decision to a customer, an investor or your board.

A contract review in FinePrint, clause by clause: the customer's draft, the company's position and the result. Ownership and term and renewal are answered from the company's playbook; the limitation of liability position is marked for a lawyer to confirm.

Your company's record is not training data

Your Legal Room documents, company facts, approvals and decisions are used for your company's work. They are not the shared model's training corpus.
