30M+ solo founders, startups and SMBs need a legal team they can afford.

Ongoing legal work is still bought by the hour. Solo founders, startups and SMBs go without. FinePrint is in-house AI legal counsel for them: run by specialist AI agents, reviewed by licensed lawyers, priced like software.

Our mission

Every company deserves a legal team.

Our mission is to give every company, from a solo founder to a legal department of four, the legal coverage of a serious firm at the price of software.

Not cheaper legal work. Coverage: something that knows your company, holds the calendar, and catches the question before it becomes a problem. Large companies have had that for decades. It should not depend on a funding round.

The Legal Room overview for Northwind Robotics, an example company: tiles for one company, eighteen people, seven agreements, nine obligations and four IP assets, the company snapshot, and a Recent changes table whose rows each name the matter that made them.
The Legal Room: every document filed by the work that produced it.

Why we built it

Every function in a company became software. Legal is still bought by the hour.

Legal works the way it did fifty years ago. You notice a question, you call a firm, you wait, and the bill is measured in hours. Law firms charge $400 to $900 an hour, and they only take startups that VCs have funded. Before that, founders are on their own.

Do-it-yourself does not work either. A template stops at the download. Founders don’t know what they don’t know. And the upsell is an expensive lawyer.

Three shifts make AI legal counsel possible now.

  • Models can run structured legal work. FinePrint adds the Legal Room, workflow rules in code, and a lawyer’s review.
  • Companies form smaller and need leverage sooner. Legal work begins on day one, long before a legal hire.
  • Lawyers can be paid for judgment, not production. AnswerLoop pays legal professionals per answer for the questions software cannot finish.
The first company to hold a startup’s legal record keeps it. The first to give an enterprise its own Legal AI model keeps that too.

What we built

In-house AI legal counsel for the price of software.

FinePrint is the legal team for solo founders, startups and SMBs. Ask it in plain English. Specialist agents run the legal work; licensed lawyers review it through AnswerLoop. Three things, built together.

01

A Legal AI vertical model

FinePrint LM, trained by lawyers on real legal work. One for everyone; a private edition for each enterprise, FinePrint OS for Enterprise.

02

AI Legal Counsel, priced as software

Specialist agents that run the company’s legal work start to finish. Eight specialists, 101 kinds of legal work. One price for the company.

03

A learning, training and labeling loop with lawyers

AnswerLoop. Lawyers answer what the model has not seen, and every answer trains it. A lawyer answers once. The model knows forever.

Every lawyer’s answer makes the model better. That compounds, across every company on FinePrint. Every legal matter makes the next one more knowledgeable and cheaper to run.

An Ide8 company

FinePrint was born inside Ide8.

Ide8 is a community of repeat entrepreneurs building AI-native companies together. FinePrint started there, with the people, the capital and the operating help a new company needs on day one.

The team has built and run companies before, in AI and in law. Ide8 is where they build the next ones, side by side.
